THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW;;

HISTORY;;

Lucy's childhood was as ... normal as it could be, really. She's the (roughly) well-adjusted product of a broken home. Her parents were separated by the time she was seven, and they divorced when she was a teenager. Her father was infamous, always - the cop that got away, the unsung hero of the fucking hour - but as Lucy got older, the more and more she began to resent him. She'd idolized him, when she was a child - but when she got old enough to ... understand, as much as she thought she did, all she saw was the workaholic that was always gone or hung over, and she couldn't (wouldn't) deal with it.

She got tired of being shuttled back and forth between New York and California and by the time she was done with high school, she'd only seen her father once or twice a year for the past three. She showed something of her true colors though when, after skipping a couple years to be a lazy ass on the beaches of California, she applied and was accepted to Rutgers - in New Jersey. Her father was surprised - her mother doubly so, but they both chipped in (John nearly drained his remaining 401K, and Lucy still doesn't know) to pay her tuition. She was a good enough student, and started off as an English major - but switched halfway, without telling either parent, to law and criminology. They still don't know, even now that she's about to graduate, because she's an adult and all of her school papers come to her, personally. (The only one she ever told was JJ, on pain of death if he told a soul.)

In the summer of 2007 Lucy was on the outs with her father again because of his awful habits of stalking her and instead of just being a parent, being an over-protective cop parent. She'd gone through a string of awful boyfriends in the past year - none of them fucking knew the word no, and thought guilting her was a good way into her pants - but she could still take care of herself, and John pulling her not-boyfriend (he was a fucker anyway, in retrospect) out of the car was the last straw. She swore off of him completely and decided to go on with her life - it was easy for her to doubt her decision to be a cop then, in moments of weakness.

When the terrorism started though, she asked for him specifically - a daddy's girl is a daddy's girl, especially when she's scared - but because of just who her father was she ended up kidnapped, a pawn in Thomas Gabriel's game. It's where she met Matt Farrell - who she didn't like at first, but more on him later - and stood her ground. As a McClane it was an insult, to be told to beg her father to give up, so she'd just egged him on instead. It got her slapped, but it was worth it. Standing up to her kidnappers wasn't hard - shooting one of them in the foot wasn't hard either, even if it only got her a little worse treatment in the long run.

It was terrifying, to watch her father almost die - to watch him almost kill himself even, just to save her, and after Matt had finally killed the man holding her, the first time she really cried, other than her screaming in the whole ordeal was in her father's arms.

PERSONALITY;;

Lucy's personality is very dual - normally she's an average girl, even if some of her views are a little skewed. She's very friendly and helpful both. She has a ton of friends at school, and has a very normal social life. Her grades are good, if a little inconsistent later on when she started feeling more stress. In friendly situations she is actually REALLY FLAILY, and it gets obvious when she's around people she knows well!

In times of crisis she is very much like her father - any reactions are angry and violent, rather than simpering or even just panicked. Even when she feels utterly hopeless, she'll cop an attitude and threaten you before she'll back down and admit defeat. She's stubborn to a fault and will fuck you up if you threaten her family or anyone she cares about. She wasn't afraid to tell off her kidnappers when she was surrounded by weapons that could easily kill her, and she's not afraid to tell you off, either.

One major fault is drinking - she takes after her father there too it seems, and any amount of stress (see: finals) is enough to send her to a bar. She's very functional however, has actually never had a hangover, and never drinks to excess when she has shit to do.

When it comes to boys Lucy is a lot more cautious now than she ever was - a string of bad boyfriends led her to be, and now she's a little skittish. She'll smile and accept compliments of course, but she very much dislikes being touched unless it's someone she actually trusts with her life.

PHYSICAL CONDITION;;

Lucy is very physically fit - she runs 3 miles 3 times a week at least, lifts weights on occasion, and overall just keeps herself in great shape because if she's going to be a cop, she feels like she needs it.

She's been shooting guns since she was a teenager and she's an excellent shot - at least when she has leeway for movement. She's not too shabby with melee weapons either, or even a good old-fashioned fistfight.

She's also very resourceful, taking, again, after her father, and if you back her in a corner you bet she'll find the car to your helicopter.

Despite all of this, she's only human, and that much does limit her.
